The only similarity is the use of a shotgun to shoot clay targets. Sporting clays is designed to simulate field shooting and mimics the flight path of gamebirds (flushing, crossing, incoming), as well as rabbits rolling across the ground. You’ll move from station to station where new target presentations are thrown in pairs (usually 3-4 pairs per station). 

 No- Our courses are designed by skill level: Orange for Advanced shooters, Blue for Intermediate and Green for Beginners. Even if you’ve never held a gun, our instructors will have you breaking targets in no time!  If you have never shot a firearm, we highly recommend scheduling a lesson. 

 Yes, we offer lessons for all levels and abilities from first timers to advanced shooters. Give us a call to discuss your needs! 

We offer loaner guns for a minimal charge.  If using out loaner guns, shells must be purchased from our clubhouse. However, you’ll find our shells are competitively priced. 

 Yes! Our Pro Shop is fully equipped with a variety of shotguns for sale, as well as competitively priced shells, shooting accessories and a whole host of outdoor apparel. 

Yes. Shotgun requirements: MINIMUM of 24″ barrel (Exceptions will be made for youth and disabled individuals.  Must be approved by RSO or Management.) Recommended barrel length is 26-32". Pistol grips, collapsible stocks and/or convertible/combo/hybrid semi-auto/pump shotguns are not allowed (standard semi-autos and pumps are fine as long as they meet our other requirements). No shotguns larger than 12g allowed. Recommended chokes: Cylinder through Improved Modified.  Our loaner guns are choked with cylinder and improved cylinder.

Target loads only. (1/2 oz. through 1-1/8 oz. of shot depending on gauge). No game loads. No shot size larger than 7.5 (acceptable sizes: 7.5, 8, 8.5 or 9). Note: the higher the number, the smaller the size of the actual BB’s.).  Recommended FPS is 1145-1330 (max 1330).  All ammo is up to the discretion of our Range Safety Officers.

 100 shells per person for the full course or 50 shells for half. However, you may want to bring extra shells to shoot additional targets at the stations you enjoy most! 

 Generally, 11-12 years of age (approximately 75-80 lbs. and mature) is required, however it will be up to the discretion of the Range Safety Officer or Instructor.  Note: Lessons are required if the child never used a shotgun and/or is shooting with an adult who is also inexperienced. 

Yes, it’s easy to shoot solo! Our automated system throws targets in a delay after you push the trap release button. When you arrive, our Range Safety Officers (RSO) will gladly get you up to speed! 

 Yes, you may have a non-shooter(s) join you while you are shooting, they just need to fill out the appropriate waiver.  There is no fee for the non-shooting guest.  Please note – for safety reasons, children under 3 years old are not permitted on the course.  Children over 3 years old may be on the course as long as they are able to safely keep ear and eye protection on at all times. LVSC Management and/or Range Safety Officers (RSOs) have the final determination. 

Yes - please keep in mind ALL coolers, backpacks, bags, etc will be checked by a Range Safety Officer prior to entering the course.  NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY AT ANY TIME! RSOs will also be checking bags for ammo that does not meet our requirements.  This helps keep things safe for you and everyone on the course.

You can expect to spend one to three hours on the course depending on the number of clays thrown and the size of your group.  Allow yourself additional time on weekends.

Yes – Personal shooting carts and ATVs are permitted. However, for the safety of all our guests, the carts must be in good working order and approved by our clubhouse manager prior to entering the course. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and follow cart/vehicle rules. For the safety of all of our guests, horizontal gun racks are not permitted. LVSC cannot be held liable for damage to the vehicle while on our property and the owner/operator is responsible for any damages to LVSC or our guests’ property. 

 We encourage everyone to take advantage of our Call Ahead Priority Waitlist, by calling 610.261.9616. One of our team members will help you pick the best time to arrive based on course selection and size of your group. While this is not a true “reservation”, those who call ahead are given priority over those who walk-in. Reservations are required for motorized shooting carts (golf carts), pushcarts, loaner guns, and lessons. For groups of 12 or more, please call in advance. 

 Yes! Our staff works extremely hard to quickly clear snow and other weather-related obstacles to ensure maximum, year-round access to our facility.   However, there may be times that we will need to start late or close early for safety reasons.  If weather is questionable,  please call the clubhouse before coming out.  We also post at the top of our website and our Facebook page if we need to open late / close early.

 LVSC is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.year-round and Mondays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. April 1 - December 31. We are closed on Tuesdays. Please check our Facebook page or website for updates on hours. 

Close-toed shoes are recommended for your safety. Bring sunglasses or eye protection, if possible. Otherwise, eye protection is available for purchase at the clubhouse. Please note, eye protection is required for everyone at all times on the course. Ear protection is provided at no charge. Loaner shotguns are available for a nominal fee and guns may be shared within your squad. Please note, you must purchase our ammunition if using our loaner gun. A canvas bag or shooting vest is recommended to carry your shells (Vests and shell bags are available for purchase in our Pro Shop).
